The role of Palestinian Universities in Political Education and its Relation to Students' Attitudes Towards the Right of Return
Abstract
The study aimed to identify the degree of appreciation of the sample of university students for their role in political education, and their relation to their attitudes towards the right of return. To achieve this, the researcher followed the analytical descriptive method by applying two questionnaires to a sample of 313 students from the fourth level enrolled in the second semester in universities (Al-Azhar, Islamic) for the academic year 2018/2019,
The results found that: The overall degree of appreciation for the role of universities in political education was at an average level of relative weight (57.5%). The field of political self-formation ranked first with a relative weight of 60.4% With a relative weight (54.7%), all of which are medium grades
The total degree of appreciation of the respondents' attitudes towards the right of return was moderate at a relative weight (54.9%). (56.3%) and the concept and content of the right of return in the last place with relative weight (54.2%), all of which are medium.
A statistically positive correlation was found at 0.01 between the degree of the role of universities in political education on the one hand and the attitudes of the sample towards the right of return, where the total correlation coefficient (0.734)
The researcher recommended the need for good planning of student activities in universities in order to serve the cause of refugees and the right of return through local effort and electronic publishing.
