A Proposed Treatment of Tongue Disorder by Reciting the Verses of the Holy Qur'an
The objective of this study is to propose a treatment intervention for tongue disorder using the recitations of the verses of the Holy Qur'an (i.e. stuttering). The strategy is based on the basis of replacing the disruptive conversational behavior with another correct conversational behavior that can have wide-ranging impact on the rest of other words ; the correct pronunciation of the letters according to the ethics of recitation, and regulating the breathing mechanism when reciting the Holy Qur'an is found to be very helpful in improving the functions of the verbal system and strengthen its performance. The study suggests that the ability of a person, who suffers from stuttering, in controlling the pronunciation of phonemes, and the time taken in pronouncing them will make a person more confident when talking with others, be able to master the morphemes, and more importantly control the breathing process. Furthermore, the feeling that a person resorts to the Quran as a tool to improve his /her pronunciation makes him/her more optimistic to eradicate the negative preconceived notion of his/her verbal performance. Based on the results of this study, the researcher came out with a set of recommendations and suggestions.
